Friends of St Joseph’s

Friends of St Joseph’s is the Parent Teacher Association P.T.A, and as a parent, you are automatically a member of the Friends of St Joseph’s team. The PTA plays a key role in supporting extra-curricular activities and organising fundraising and social events

The Friends of St Joseph’s work hard to bring the school, parents, carers and local community together through events families can enjoy.

As the Government continues to make cuts to education funding, the role of the P.T.A it is more important than ever.

The school’s annual fundraising events help to raise money for school equipment and resources to enhance our children’s lives. We also work with the teachers to provide better opportunities for all our children – both financially and practically.

We encourage all parents/carers to get involved in any way they can.

Parent Representatives

If you would like to volunteer, then you should consider being a Parent Representative for your child’s class.

Parent Representatives liaise with the parents in the class by keeping them informed of activities and events. They encourage parents to volunteer and pass on ideas from the parents to the class teacher. The class teacher may also request their support with class trips, class projects and class events (parties, assemblies, mass).

Being a Parent Representative will support parental involvement in your child’s education, which is one of the most important factors in raising a child’s self esteem and academic achievement.
Please speak to your class teacher if you are interested in being a Parent Representative.
