Which colours make you feel happy or sad?
This is primarily focused on children to understand feelings and that other children might have different feelings. It is useful to talk to children about the links that they make between characters, stories, songs and the way they make us feel.
Outside, make large pieces of paper reflect the colours that children like and don't like using a variety of paint, paper, fabric.
Record the ideas that work related to the context of the school, community and needs of the children
How does bob the builder help us?
What does postman pat do?
Why do some people need to wear special clothes at work?
Why do you go to school?
Why is it important to have a hospital?
When would fireman Sam be very helpful?
Reflection: who helps you in your community? What would you like to be when you grow up?
